Sonia Rykiel for H&M!!!!
H&M just announced that it's next guest designer will be none other then the "Queen of Knits" herself, Sonia Rykiel! Every time I think they can't outdo themselves, they surprise me again. Sonia will be designing an affordable lingerie line (the first time the store has collaborated on a lingerie collection) that will be available on December 5th. A second collaboration, a knit collection for Spring 2010 will launch on February 20th . The line will be available for women and girls between the ages of 1.5 to 8 years old and will be accompanied by playful accessories, according to the official press release. So excited!!
Side Note: I'm still devising my plan on how to get my hands on the Jimmy Choo collection launching on November 14th. I already know it's going to be a mad house and I'm prepared to knock a b&?@h out if need be. I might have to carry a James Piatt that day to let them know how serious I am.

Forced To Be Fat
In Mauritania, where big is beautiful and stretch marks are sexy, young girls are brutally force-fed a diet of up to 16,000 calories a day--more than four times that of a male bodybuilder--to prepare them for marriage. -Marie Claire
Wow!! I am always amazed at how varied the views of beauty are around the world. I guess I live in a bubble sometimes and think that our way of life is the way of life of everyone else. But in Mauritania, the bigger you are the more men chase and pursue you, women are actually jealous of friends who are bigger than them, and having stretch marks is a huge bonus. It is so important to be big, that parents send there young daughters to force feeding or fattening camps to gain insane amounts of weight in a short period of time. For a lot of women this may sound like heaven, but it is just as stressful for them to gain and keep the weight on as it is in Western society to diet and exercise. One woman who is 5'6" and weighs in at 180 pounds is desperate to gain even more weight because her husband "didn't like sleeping with a bag of bones". They resort to taking black market pills that aid in increasing appetite as well as insane diets that consist of such things as drinking pure animal fat. It just goes to show that women all over the world are pressured and held prisoner to the standard of beauty in their communities. And the men of Mauritania? According to the article, they are all generally rail thin. SMH

Video of the Week: Kelis "Get Along With You"
My favorite Kelis song and one of my top favorite videos of all time. Enjoy!
Style Stealing Friends
I think we've all experienced it at one point or another. You wear an outfit and the next week you see your friend wearing the same exact thing. You point something out to them in a store (maybe it's not a pay week and you just cant afford it yet) and the next time you see them, they are wearing it. You tell your friend what you are wearing to an event and when you show up they have on something similar or almost identical to what you described. It's not exclusive to clothes either, it can be anything from your hairstyle to your signature nail color (do these people have no shame??) Besides sleeping with my man, it's probably one of the worst things you can do to me as a friend. It annoys me to no end! To the point where I have contemplated ending friendships over it. Lol....but seriously! Its already hard enough to separate yourself from everyone else without having someone in your own crew looking like your twin. Ok.....let me calm down. *deep breath* My boyfriend thinks I am absolutely insane because of this. He thinks that it should be taken as a compliment or a form of flattery. I say HELL NO!! I think it shows weak character, lack of creativity and plain laziness and I am neither amused, nor flattered. To put it simply: GET YOUR OWN SH*T! Furthermore, how are you not embarrassed or ashamed that you are blatantly copying someone else? *deep breath* I know I'm not the only one who has almost been moved to violence over this type of behavior. I cant be!! How do you feel about friends stealing your style??

Would You Erase The Memory of Your Ex If You Could???
If the answer is yes, then you may be in luck soon. According to the London Daily Mirror and the
New York Daily News, scientists are one step closer to creating a medication that could effectively erase recollections that are sad, embarrassing or otherwise unpleasant-kind of like they did it in the movie, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." In the movie, Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet were able to eradicate memories of their not so sweet affair by taking a pill, explains the Daily Mail.
Hmmm....my friend and I used to joke after we both went through HORRIBLE break-ups, that we wish we could erase that part of our memory like they did in the movie. Now that the opportunity may be presenting itself soon, I don't know how I feel about it. With my luck, I would wake up not remembering a damn thing at all. My name is what??? I have a son??? My father is not a wealthy white man from Malibu??? No thanks. I guess it would be kind of nice, but isn't part of growing as a human being going through tough times, learning from it, and becoming stronger because of it? I go back and forth with this one. If they could guarantee that they would erase ONLY the memories that I choose, then I would be all for it! Would you guys do it?
Kanye Styles Amber for Elle Magazine
I think he could've got a little bit more creative with it. It actually doesn't look like anything that I wouldn't see her wearing on a normal day. I heart Amber though, and she takes some HOT pics so no matter what she's wearing she's still a bad b*tch to me. Watch your back Kanye.

My "Fashion's Night Out" FAIL!
Last night was the First Annual Fashion's Night Out event in NYC. There were so many events going on that we didn't even know where to begin. The city was absolutely amazing! The weather was beautiful (surprisingly) and New Yorkers were actually being nice and cordial to each other. Live model window displays, celebrities, every designer you could think of, champagne, you name it! Cute outfit?? CHECK! Diddy??? CHECK! Anna Wintour??? CHECK! My camera??? FAIL! I could not believe it! It simply would not turn on. So there I was amongst all this fashion greatness and energy and couldn't document a damn thing! I even saw Anna Wintour smile!! How the hell am I ever supposed to prove that to anyone??? That's like a Big Foot sighting! I literally wanted to cry. Despite the tragedy, it still turned out to be a wonderful night. Next year I will make sure to have extra cameras on hand or an official photographer to follow me around.LOL In the meantime, check out the two blurry Blackberry pics I got of Ms. Wintour. SMDH!
DO YOU SEE IT?!?!?! I didn't realize I actually got a picture of her smiling. Yesss!!!

Fefe Dobson: "I Want You"
I really like Fefe Dobson a lot. The song and video are both simple and straight to the point, which is actually what I love about it. Definitely feeling the 80's punk rock vibe. It's too bad Rihanna took her style and ran all the way to the bank with it. I love you Rih Rih, but you were dead wrong for that! SMH! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Rihanna/Fefe debacle, make sure you check out the video below. You be the judge.
