Fashion's Night Out 2010!!!! *Updated*
The second annual Fashion's Night Out event will take place on September 9, 2010. I wasn't expecting them to announce a date so soon. Although I had a lot of fun, my last experience at Fashion's Night Out wasn't so successful. I'm excited and determined to get it right this time! LOL And I have almost a year to prepare. Should be fun, can't wait!
***The date has been changed to September 10, 2010

Movies I Can't WAIT to see!!!!!
2012 Opening November 13th.
Ever since I saw "Towering Inferno" (LOL) disaster movies have been my absolute favorite genre of movies. The trailer is awesome, I just hope the movie is everything I hope it will be.
Twilight New Moon Opening November 20th.
Never read the books, thought the first one was decent but wasn't particularly moved by it. But when I saw the trailer for this on the MTV video awards, I knew my ass was up in there.
The Hobbit Opening December......2011 *sigh* :(
Everyone who knows me knows that The Lord of the Rings is my favorite movie of all time so I don't really have to tell anyone how excited I am for this movie to come out!

Surviving A Break-Up
You spent time with this person, formed a bond, shared intimate moments, maybe even loved them and now they are gone. If you are going through a break-up and find yourself having a hard time picking up the pieces, don't beat yourself up for feeling this way. It is perfectly normal to grieve the loss of someone you loved or still love. The goal is to try to cut the grieving time down as much as possible. It may seem almost impossible because you can't see past your pain right now, but you can and will get through it. When I was going through a particularly bad break-up, I came across a blog by an author named Susan Russo. I encourage you to read her blogs, sign up for her newsletters, and read the free articles on her website. Keep an open mind while reading and have faith that this will pass.
Here are a few of my own personal rules for getting through a break-up:
1. The GOLDEN RULE of break-ups: STAY BUSY!! Go to the gym, do over time at work, take your child to the park, read a book, write a book, watch movies, start a business. Do ANYTHING to keep your mind occupied, so you don't sit there and dwell on the why's, what if's, wondering what they're doing, etc.
2. Be honest with yourself. Your relationship didn't work out for a reason. The only way you can truly move on is to accept the fact that it's over. I know that sounds harsh, but until you do, you will be stuck right where you are. You will never be able to move forward because you will waste your time hoping, wishing, and praying for something that simply wasn't meant to be. If it was meant to be, it would've been!
3. If it was a particularly bad break-up in which you were betrayed in some way, you may be having thoughts of revenge. LET THAT GO NOW! If you were wronged, this person doesn't deserve the energy it takes to plot and carry out revenge. You don't have to do it now, but at some point you should try to forgive them so that YOU can move on. When you hold on to hateful thoughts you are giving them more power over you and your life. Haven't you given them enough of your life already? Remember: "A life well lived is the best revenge". Life and Karma will handle the rest.
4. Do not under any circumstances contact this person or answer when they try to contact you. There is nothing worse then going through that limbo stage. Its always best to make a clean break. Call your mama, your bff, pizza hut, speak to a representative at Sprint, call whoever you need to call if you feel like you need to talk, just don't call them. Speaking to them, especially when your feelings are still raw will only set you back and then you have to start the process all over again. Be honest with yourself, know when its over, STAY BUSY and move on completely.
5. Stay off of their social networking pages! I can't stress this enough!! Unless you like the feeling of dying slowly inside every time you see their status change, pics of them enjoying themselves at a party when they're supposed to be home crying over you, talking to people of the opposite sex, etc. then please don't do it to yourself! You don't need to know what they are up to, who they are dating, and where they are partying. They are no longer your responsibility or a concern of yours. You are too busy being busy, right? You don't intentionally do things to inflict pain on yourself, right? RIGHT! Your focus is living a happy and healthy life, just like you did before them and like you will long after them!
Bossip You Are So Wrong For This!!!! Lmaoooo!!!

Essence Busts Five Hair Growing Myths
I know I grew up hearing a lot of these myths, I'm sure a lot of you have as well.
1. Oiling Your Scalp Is An Absolute Necessity
Your scalp needs to breathe to function properly, so it's best not to clog hair follicles with heavy ingredients like petroleum jelly, mineral oil or lanolin. A dry or flaky scalp could be the result of using the wrong products. For example, shampoo with high alcohol content might dry out the scalp, or a too-heavy conditioner may leave a flaky residue. The last thing you want to do is put grease on top of flaky dead skin.
2. Your Hair Will Grow If Your Stylist Has Growing Hands
There is no magic when it comes to hair growth. It's a matter of biology. Depending on your hair's natural growth cycle, it may grow anywhere from a quarter of an inch to a half inch per month. So abandon the idea of "growing hands." Most likely, a stylist's ability to keep hair on your head is based on his or her understanding of how to care for your hair type, texture and special needs.
3. If You Want Your Hair To Grow Long, Don't Cut It
If you don't keep your ends trimmed—a quarter of an inch snipped every six to eight weeks—they will eventually unravel up the hair shaft, leaving thinner, more fragile tresses that will easily break. Regular trimming keeps the hair stronger.
4. With Locks or Braids, You Rarely Have To Wash Your Hair
All hair (especially the scalp) needs regular shampooing. The only way to remove bacteria, perspiration, product residue, pollution, etc. is via regular shampooing. Try a dry shampoo between your regular shampoos to freshen the hair.
5. Natural Hair Doesn't Need Much Maintenance
The late stylist and hair care guru Olive Benson used to tell me constantly: There is no such thing as zero-maintenance Black hair. Our hair is dry, often porous, so it needs regular detangling, moisture and conditioning to counter breakage and to thrive.

Is There A Such Thing As "The One"?
This is an on-going debate amongst my friends and I. I have one friend who thinks that if he and a girl have a lot in common, it's just coincidence and if she turns out to be everything he's looking for, he just got lucky. It doesn't mean she's "The One". He thinks the whole theory is BS. Another friend of mines feels like there are too many women out here for there to ever be ONE for him. He says he finds the One every month. Then there's another one of my friends who has been in a committed relationship with the same person since she was 15 (she is now 29) and believes that there is one person out there for everyone that is their perfect match. She feels they just have to be patient enough to wait to cross paths. I'm not gonna state my opinion on this topic just yet. But I'm really interested in seeing what everyone's thoughts are on this topic. Do you think that in this world filled with billions of people, there is just ONE person out there that was made just for you?
KILLED IT!!!
Yes I know this is my second Rihanna post today, but she is killing Paris Fashion Week! Love this look from top to bottom. It warms my heart when women take these kind of risks.

Blast From The Past: Garbage Pail Kids
I don't know why, but out of nowhere I had a serious urge to watch this movie today. I remember being kind of disgusted by the snot and the rest of the nastiness, but I still liked it. Lol I had the Garbage Pail kids cards and everything. Didn't the cards come with gum or something? I can't remember. Anywho...do you guys remember this movie?
